THIRD NATURE has won the assignment to develop a strategy and masterplan for the Firskovvej area in Lyngby. The area is close to the station and the city center and offers great potential for development and renewal. The ambition is to transform the now debarred industrial area into a dense, diverse and vibrant area, that within its own special character becomes an integrated part of Lyngby.
With high expectations for our team’s potential, we look forward to collaborating with EKJ consulting engineers and CBRE real estate advisors. With our different qualifications and expertise we look forward to creating a holistic and unique urban development plan, that both meets the needs and wishes of Lyngby-Taarbaek municipality, the land owners and the citizens. Our ambition is to create a strong, visionary and innovative city typology and will in the process include our unique approaches to affect the urban development with a focus on social, economic, circular and climatic sustainability.
THE FIRSKOVVEJ AREA
As the last neighborhood to be developed in Lyngby, Lyngby-Taarbaek municipality wishes to develop the industrial area by Firskovvej and Nørgaardsvej that for many years has stored businesses and functions that do not otherwise fit into the city centre development of Kgs. Lyngby. With a mix of housing, business, detail stores and new urban spaces, the neighborhood will be created based on high architectural quality, that can ensure unique experiences and recreational offerings that can enrich the daily life of the citizens.
The Firskovvej area has great potential to become an attractive new neighborhood with unique offers for the city’s citizens – close to the train station, the centre of Kgs. Lyngby and the surrounding neighborhoods, a stone’s throw away from the listed green area Ermelundskilen with direct connection to Dyrehaven and easy transport possibilities to and from Copenhagen. The ambition is to create a new, unique and integrated neighborhood with a special urban character and modern identity.
