As a prominent part of the exhibit, the project will be a ‘super object’ in the exhibit ‘Danish Design Now’. Vinge Station is displayed on a 6×4 meter wall in a room which focuses on sustainability, fair trade, light, heating technology, and even a poetic seaweed dress! The exhibit contains 300 designs and is made up of the absolute elite in Danish design world, including Louise Campbell, Ole Jensen, Cecile Manz, Kasper Salto, and Henrik Vibskov. The curator of the exhibit, Lars Dybdahl (Head of the Museum of Design library and research team) says:
”Danish cultural products and danish design are in focus internationally. After the ‘golden age’ in the 1950’s and 60’s, Danish design has developed with renewed strength and danish designers have been very successful on the global design stage. The exhibit, ‘Danish Design Now’, we aim to make the trends and tendencies, which effect our ‘designed daily life’ and bring to light how Danish design encompases all scales- from urban design to experimental crafts, ‘super objects’.”
Vinge Station and Centrum
Nature and city are usually presented as opposing entities, but in Vinge it is two sides of the same coin. Vinge combines both of best world’s, where public life is steeped with nature experiences. Vinge is the largest development area in Denmark, where the center contains 183.000 square meters of buildings, urban and landscape spaces, a new S-train station, infrastructure, and rainwater management.
